Clomid and ovulation go hand
in hand when it comes to infertility treatment.

In order to induce ovulation in females, drug named Clomid is used
all over the world. Clomid is used principally amongst females for inducing production of ovaries suffering from
ovulatory disorder diseases.
Clomid and ovulation works by effecting hormonal production by
manipulating fertility hormones like estrogen, testosterone, and progesterone. Just like similar medicines, clomid
works by giving a positive signal to the brain into believing that the estrogen levels in the body are not high in
numbers.
This in turn forces the brain to send more signals to discharge higher levels of Gonadotropin Releasing Hormone thereby causing the pituitary gland to release more Follicle Stimulating Hormone, also known as FSH. This entire process is coined as induction of ovulation. Usually Clomid works for taking orally for 5 days as per doctor’s prescription. It never should be taken without prescription or doctor’s advice. Once the entire process of inducing ovulation is complete.
Pregnancy can be expected within the first 6 months of treatment.
Although the drug has a high success rate in females trying to succeed in getting pregnant, yet there is no promise
or official guarantee by the company that the product would actually work for everyone in every case. Furthermore
do not get excited with a positive ovulation test during the start of clomid as it is a false test that usually
would result if it is taken too early of the ovulation cycle. Ovulation test is basically used to make sure that
the female has being successfully induced ovulation and succeeded with getting pregnant.
Clomid works opposite to many birth control pills present in the market. Birth
control pills are used as oral contraceptive pills to stop women from getting conceived, whereas Clomid works by
increasing the hormone level responsible for reproduction.
Clomid in men have also been used and currently in use in order to fight infertility related problems by boosting
lower levels of testosterone. Unfortunately many use it without prescription with a general idea that if it induces
ovulation it would also induce sperm production and testosterone production. The fact is that the pharmaceutical
company that manufactured this drug approved it by the FDA to be used amongst females only, but not amongst
males.
It is a generic medicine that would not require the company to generate millions of
dollars more to get it approved just for males as it is already in running condition amongst females very
suitably.
There are many medicines and natural supplements used in curing infertility amongst
females. Apart from Clomid, these are chasteberry and vitex agnus castus having vitex as an essential component in
them. FertileAid for Women and FertileAid for Men have been reported to have high success rates as nutritional
supplmenets amongst females and males to solve infertility related problems. There has been no abuse for Clomid
reported till date, because it is targeted only for solving infertility related problems amongst
females.
However the drug can be over dosed or under doses before the actual pregnancy can
take place. To know whiter you have gone stray from the dosage limits, make sure to consult your doctor and get
professional advice in this aspect.
Where there are benefits, there are risks as well and Clomid is not an exception in this case. Every drug has its
own risks and benefits. Clomid has its own risks too. Treating infertility via Clomid could result in multiple
births like twins, and triplets etc. However the rate of multiple birth occurrences is hardly 5%, which is quite a
low rate. Although there has been link in studies suggesting usage of infertility drugs and ovian cancer, Clomid
has till date no reported such case regarding cancer. A good aspect of Clomid is that it is quite effective via
oral treatment without requiring any forms of injections or body patches. It is also a reasonably priced
drug.
Women suffering from liver disease should avoid taking Clomid and resort to other
fertility drugs but not without doctor’s recommendation. Femera is another fertility drug that can be used for
infertility treatment but not without doctor’s prior advice. In either case it is always helpful and highly
recommended to get prescription and treatment from the doctor after complete screening is done. This ensures that
your doctor understands the best condition of you thereby helping you to get pregnant as effectively &
efficiently as possible.
